On this day in 1779, Hawaiians got fed up with a white guy acting like a god and killed Captain James Cook. Something for which the rest of Polynesia will forever maintain at least some small measure of jealousy.

So Happy Valentine's and whatnot. You might consider celebrating by rounding up a mob to kill a pretentious Englishman.
